HOW TO STAY AUTHENTIC AS A BLOGGER

How to Stay Authentic as a bloggerWith millions of blog posts published each day, the least we can say is that the blogger world is quite saturated. Some are successful, some are not. From a personal point of view, I can easily state that the blogs I keep up with are written by people I have found a connection with; mostly because of their authenticity... Staying true to myself has always been a pillar of my brand. I admit it, sometimes I compare myself to other bloggers who get a ton of likes and followers. However, I always try to remember that small steps are better than projecting an image out there that is not a representation of who I am. So today I wanted to share a few things I do myself to keep me grounded and stay genuine.DEFINE YOUR STYLE | We all change, nothing wrong about that. If you go back to my first pictures on Instagram then you'll notice they were so bright. I was trying to fit into the bright white theme which was such a success. Did it work for me?! Well no. Instead, with time, I have learned to just be me and post pictures that truly fit my daily aesthetic. Clean, simple, minimal with a luxe feel; under saturated and definitely not bright haha.Same thing goes for what I have in my closet. I love comfortable, neutral, minimal and versatile pieces — elevated sometimes with luxe pieces. Every time I post an outfit, I think my readers can definitely recognize my style. It takes time to streamline your style. I don’t even think I’m done yet. But just know there is an audience for you.DO IT BECAUSE YOU LOVE IT, NOT FOR THE MONEY | I mean duh!! If you start blogging to become “rich”; trust me you will not! It takes time to build a brand. Being financially compensated to create content is not as easy as it seems. Therefore, make sure you’re doing it for the good reasons because people will notice. Creating good content is hard work, people don't always grasp the depth of it. Show your personality, open up to your audience and everything will fall into place with time and dedication.COLLABORATE WITH BRANDS YOU GENUINELY ADMIRE | I’ll work with you if I like your products and if they are a good fit to my blog. I think honesty and true reviews are two things you owe to your audience. They are taking the time to read your thoughts and may even make purchases based on them. So please, be honest. I have one little question I ask myself each time I receive a request for collaboration: would you buy this with your money? If the answer is yes, then it’s a winner. If not, I politely decline.DON'T POST TO FIT IN A SCHEDULE | Don’t get me wrong, I do think it’s really important to have a certain schedule when you’re a blogger. However, I never oblige myself to post if I truly have nothing worth sharing. I’ve had weeks where I did not post on my blog: I did not die from it, my loyal readers stayed. We all have days were we feel less inspired, don't feel bad about it. I want my blog to stay an ever evolving passion and transcripts of my every day musings. I want people to feel inspired and not bored when they come here!HANG OUT WITH PEOPLE OUTSIDE OF THE BLOGGING WORLD | This always helps me to stay grounded. Quite easy to do to as my family and a few closest friends are not part of the blogging world. I make time to catch up with friends via messages, phone calls or even e-mails. We have random conversation, talk about life in general and the blog sometimes. They do try to understand how being a blogger is like. My family is my biggest support, they want me to be succeed and ultimately make a living out of what I love doing. It's so easy to get wrapped in this industry; this is one thing I do to stay sane!

Do you have any actions you do to stay authentic?! Would love to hear your suggestions!
