MY FIVE BEAUTY SECRETS
To me, external beauty is all about excellent skincare. Let's be honest, I'm not getting any younger, so I invest in quality products I'm convinced are appropriate and work for my skin type.Good skincare over Make-Up anyday , anytime. News Flash: I rarely wear foundation ( even for my style posts here on the blog ), I don't like really like the feel of foundation on my skin.I prefer to put the focus on: my eyebrows ( love the ABH brow wiz or the NYX eyebrow pencil ), lashes ( a good mascara can change everything ), my cheeks ( I'm obsessed with the Sephora HD blush ) , a good highlighter for a little bit of glow and a gloss or liptstick.I'm saying this in a really modest way, but I've received a lot of compliments on how my skin is clear, looks healthy and radiant. I seriously have a simple routine, I don't do anything complicated. But I do have 5 beauty secrets ( which are certainly not that secret ).WATER | We all know this ... but I don't think we all pay attention to the amount of water we drink on a daily basis. I always make sure I drink a minimum of 1.5 litres per day. It helps keep my skin clear and hydrated. This is honestly my number ONE beauty staple. I love my smart water and throughout the day I make sure to refill the bottle twice and I'm all set. It's that easy to keep up.SERUM | My skin loves a good serum before my daily cream. I've been using the Esthederm brightening youth anti-dark spots serum combined with the targeted dark spots concentrate for more than three months and it's a winning duo for me. The serum is very hydrating without being greasy. Sometimes, I use it by itself. No additional cream required. My skin complexion is more regular and simply radiant.FACE MASK | I never skip my weekly face mask. Getting rid of dead skin and exfoliating your face is super important. Our skin needs to be renewed. The Face mask I'm currently using is the one from Jouviance, their soft peel mask brightens and makes the skin look radiant. I appreciate the fact that this exfoliating formula is non irritating. So far, so good for me! I'm a big fan of exfoliation. Therefore, I also use a gentle exfoliating cleanser two times a week.BODY SCRUB | I take care of my face as much as I do for the rest of my body. Part of my routine is to exfoliate my whole body as well. This helps keep my skin smooth and silky. Aēsop new release, the Redemption Body Scrub is litterally like having a spa at home. Made with essentials oils of Fir and Pine needles, Sage leaf and Clove, the scrub has an organic and woody smell. I've used it two times this week and I'm already hooked. It's a real treat for the body and mind.LIP BALM | I keep my lips hydrated at all times ( even more during the harsh Canadian Winter ) preferably with a natural lip balm. I've been using this vegan lavender lip balm from Énamour { check out my most recent post on Énamour }. This gem is super nourishing and its french lavender essential oil scent is so yummy. I actually have the whole lip balms line ; well minus one that my husband "borrowed" ... who am I kidding?! I know it's not coming back lol.
So that's it for my beauty "secrets", I would love to know what's part of your beauty essentials! Let me know in the comments.
