MY TIME AT DOYLE x MY NEW PRADA EYEGLASSES
During my college years, due to countless hours spent in front of the computer screens working on my Master's thesis, I was prescribed reading glasses. With time I stopped wearing them for no other reason than I was being careless. Well, guess what?!Towards the end of last year, I noticed I had trouble seeing properly in front of the computer screens. It was obviously time to head back to an optometrist for an eye exam. I went for my eye exam and got my prescription at one place, then had to buy the lenses + frames I wanted at another placeWhen I was offered the opportunity to work with DOYLE and be treated to the whole experience; you can guess I was thrilled and jumped on the opportunity. Everything at a single location? Sign me up! The plan for my time there: a detailed and complete eye exam ( hello high-tech optometry equipment ), choosing a luxe frame with the help of a stylist and lenses adapted to my needs.First of all, the team there was so nice and experienced. They made me really feel at ease from the beginning. I was taken care of from A to Z and they made sure to answer my questions and concerns. The eye exam process was fluid and I really love the fact that for each test, they were explaining me the end goal and what they were trying to determine. I'm a nerd and I kind of like to learn about the usefulness of each equipment.I obviously went through the regular tests like reading the alphabet etc ... but there is that one thing that impressed me. I have never done a similar test before ( I might be late in the game too ). The optometrist basically took a photo of the inside of each eye which allows her to detect any signs of eye diseases such as glaucoma or even signs of internal bleeding etc. It's pretty incredible to me that she could learn so much of my overall health just by looking at the nerves in my eyes. I told you I was a nerd LOL. In another life I would have definitely worked in the medical field. The optometrist was the coolest ever: we talked about our cultures, husbands, weddings. I mean, it does not get more friendly than that. Then came the time to choose my frames. Oh dear! That was fun. Of course I needed a little help to go through the array of frames and brands they had in store: Rayban, Lacoste, Tom Ford, DVF, Kate Spade, Prada, D&G and the list goes on for days. If you know me, then you know I went there with quite a clear idea of the style / colour I wanted. So it actually made it easier to pick my final choice but I was opened to try other options. I was presented with a few styles: some traditional and some not so traditional. Now onto my final pick for the frames: these PRADA stunner. I love the shape, the soft cat eyes and the dark colour. They go with my face like a charm and my husband was there with me too to approve them ;) So what do you think of these frames?!If you live in Montréal and you're looking for the best place to go for your eye exam and choose from the latest trends in frames + sunglasses, I'd definitely urge you to visit DOYLE OPTOMÉTRISTES & OPTICIENS. You won't regret it.P.S.: I went to the Mont-Royal location, 1258 Beaumont Avenue. They have 15 stores in the province of Québec: Trois-Rivières, Cowansville, Valleyfield, Longueil etc...
